Succesful GRAPPLE review
GRAPPLE has been succesfully reviewed last month. This means that the latest deliverables and software can now be posted.
PhD candidate Dade Nurjanah wins a STELLAR excellence award on research related to GRAPPLE
The STELLAR Doctoral Academy Board has selected Dade Nurjanah as the winner of the Excellence Award for the 2010 STELAR Doctoral Mobility Programme. Dade, a PhD candidate at the University of Southampton, was hosted by Dr. Eelco Herder at the L3S research center (Hannover, Germany), where she performed research on the role of the teacher in adaptive TEL, thus connecting to the outcomes of GRAPPLE.
GRAPPLE officially over
After three years of hard work the GRAPPLE project has officially come to an end!

Review Meeting Eindhoven
The second year has gone by. After some hard work of the whole GRAPPLE team most of the deliverables are now finished and the implementation of the software components is completed. Time to reflect, report and review! On March 25 the project will be reviewed in Eindhoven at the Eindhoven University of Technology.
Full Paper accepted at ED-MEDIA
Paul De Bra , David Smits, Kees van der Sluijs, Alexandra Cristea and Maurice Hendrix wrote a paper called "GRAPPLE: Personalization and Adaptation in Learning Management Systems" and sent it to the ED-MEDIA conference. The paper got accepted.
In search for participants in a 2 hours online course on Web usability issues
In the context of our GRAPPLE work on visualization, competences and adaptation strategies, we are conducting a research. In this respect, we are in search for participants in a 2 hours online course on Web usability issues.
Grapple meeting Eindhoven
Next week there will be a Grapple meeting in Eindhoven. The meeting is technical and aimed at discussion and working on the integration of the several Grapple components for the second prototype that is planned to be finished by the end of the year.
GRAPPLE software available
Preliminary software has been made available on the new software page of this site. Both source and precompiled versions of the GALE adaptive engine are available. But you can also play around with live software versions of GALE, the GAT authoring tools and adaptive simulation authoring tool.
Summer School succes
The ECSE Summer school has been a great succes! Slides and pictures are now online.
Grapple Presence EC-TEL
Grapple is present at the EC-TEL conference in Nice! There will be a (bi-yearly) meeting (private), two Grapple related workshops and a Grapple tutorial.
GRAPPLE at the Minerva Summer School in Israel
Dominikus Heckmann will give a presentation on “User Modeling for Instrumented Environments" partly based on GRAPPLE technology.
GRAPPLE at ECSE 16th International Summer School in Novel Computing
Grapple is present at the ECSE international summer school in Finland! Paul De Bra will give a course that is called "Platforms for Stories-based Learning in Future Schools", which includes a explanation of adaptive technology and an overview of GRAPPLE as a state of the art framework for that technology.
